National Championship in Honey

It will be a strong year for honey production in Norway, and now beekeepers around the country are ready to harvest and register for the NM i honning 2025. This is a competition that showcases the diversity and quality of Norwegian honey, and this year you can participate in twelve categories — from multi-flowered liquid to reed variety honeys.

What the National Championship in Honey requires

  • The honey must be this year's harvest
  • Maximum humidity: 20% (23% for heather)
  • No defects such as fermentation or foreign aroma

Important dates 2025

  • Registration opens: 5. September
  • Frist multi-flowered: 10. October
  • Fresh variety honey (m. more): November 1
  • Submission multi-flowered: November 1
  • Submitting varietal honey: November 20
  • Final judging: 20. January
  • Prize giving and gala dinner: 30. January

You can enter multiple categories (liquid and/or stirred). If you are unsure about the “type” of honey, please note what you think and why – the organizers can adjust the category for you.
