That's it HANEN-members among the BU finalists 2025
That's it HANEN-members among the BU finalists 2025. The finalists for the national business development award in agriculture (BU award) 2025 have now been named by Innovation Norway. After regional business awards have been awarded in all counties, three strong candidates remain in the fight for the national award. What the finalists have in common is that they take their starting point from the resources in agriculture and rural areas, and combine tradition with innovation. The national award will be presented during the food and agricultural fair Internationale Grüne Woche in Berlin in January 2026.
This year's finalists represent the breadth of Norwegian agriculture and local food production. The Freberg brothers are leaders in vegetable production and are, among other things, Norway's only producer of white asparagus. By using new technology, such as drones in cultivation, they have made production more efficient and reduced the use of diesel, fertilizer and pesticides, while maintaining high crop quality. Valdresmeieriet has developed from a small farm dairy to a modern dairy with great importance for many farmers in the region, and has won a number of national and international awards for its hand-cured cheeses based on cow's milk. Galåvolden Gård, run by the ninth and tenth generation of Galåen, has for over 20 years produced local food with a distinctive character and high quality, with products that are sold throughout the country and used by both the private and professional markets.
Together, the finalists show how Norwegian agriculture can create value through quality, sustainability and innovation, and they are all strong candidates to win the national BU award 2025.
